Keep in mind that they are open-back and natural sound, so they may not be for everybody.

These are great for a lower price. You still do get what you pay for though. The high end ones do sound amazing. For 80ish these sound fantastic. They really do.

I have the Sennheiser hd650 (ordered them from Germany years ago where they're sold for about 1/2 the price) and the fact that they're open back isn't an issue in my experience. When i was buying them open back headphones were considered the choice to make if sound quality was a priority.

I love that they're open back. You got a fantastic sense of space in the recording.

ah, never heard of open back. this explains why i could hear some guy's music so loudly walking down the street the other day.

I realize that, but a lot of people dislike open back headphones because they're looking for minimal bleed-through, especially if they're mostly for outside use. I love mine.

They're "isolated" enough so there isn't a real issue with them being open. I can't think of one negative thing to say about them really.

These aren't outdoors headphones to begin with. I mean it's a completely different product category all around in the sense that the properties you want for each are different. Outside use compromises sound quality to the point it becomes secondary anyway.
The most difficult thing when buying this things is trying to figure out reviews and opinions online. They're a nightmare and the more you read them the more confused you become.
I would definitely recommend them for inside use and they're brilliant even without esoteric equipment hooked to them plus spare parts are easy to find which doesn't hurt either.

I agree with you, that's why I noted "keep in mind they're open-back". I don't know what Red is looking for.

"Design inspired by European sport sedans"

That description on the Amazon page just about sold me.

It's one of those things that get exaggerated by people. You'd think they make crappy laptop speakers like sound audible in the room when in reality they're practically inaudible to anybody except to who's using them. The important thing to know about this kind of headphones is that they are supposed to faithfully reproduce the recording which makes them good for everything. There are other kinds of headphones that affect the sound like boosting the bass or treble, closed back headphones are sometimes advised for those who like an "exaggerated" bass. What i really appreciate about my headphones is how natural and "relaxed" they sound. You can listen to music trough them for hours without any fatigue.
