a light set of chord changes gives way to something inspired by The Who

when they talk about having 20 'ideas' or whatever for a recording session i wonder what constitutes an idea. Are these songs in the idea stage, or have they moved past that?

Big Wave blasting as you crest the headland of your favourite beach with the windows down on a hot summers arvo. Perfection boys, perfection.

Lucky 13 might just be Stone and Matt... I don't seem to detect a bass... and if it was recorded in Stone's studio litho it might have just been him and matt piecing the demo together

Was this the album the guys ex Ed got together beforehand or did that start with BS?

Cheers Chud. You're a good egg.

The demos of the 3 s/t album songs are just sans lyrics or developed vocals. Ed is just mumbling tones and half-thought lyrics. The album version of each song is miles better. But who cares about those. It's every other song that is the star here. 2x4 is Pearl Jam actually sounding like Pearl Jam. Not Pearl Jam trying to sound like Pearl Jam again and instead sounding like a band trying way too hard to be… I don't know… relevant(?), and thus destroying what used to be so wonderful about this group---you could count on them to knock your socks off every new album by virtue of unpredictability.

Double click the zip file you downloaded and it should open it up like it's a folder. Just drag and drop the songs somewhere else (your desktop, a new folder, wherever).
