I checked out Ava Luna's Infinite House on the basis of a glowing review and it was shit.
That is all.

Having said that, Stornoway's Bonxie is very enjoyable on the first listen.

Yeah...that Stornoway got a bit old a bit quick. Don't know if I'll revisit.

Varis wrote:I quite enjoyed Mark Knopfler's new one, Tracker, which I spun a few times this weekend. Apparently much was written whilst touring with Dylan and some of that seems to have rubbed off. Posting from my phone at the mo but will link to 'River Towns' when back in front of a pc.
I honestly can't recall why I even decided to give it a spin, but I'm glad that I did.
Couldn't find a YT clip (actually, there were 3, all linking to the same dude's 1 minute techno home demo track - props for persistence bro!) so this will have to do.

They seem to have refined their sound quite a bit. The two songs I've heard from their new album are much more interesting to me than anything from the previous one, which I didn't like at all.

David Corley's Available Light is excellent. Uncut's review started with "Anyone whose musical tastes run to double malt woe with a longneck chaser will want to raise a glass to Available Light" and that's about where the dude is at. Very very good.

The new Kanye will be released when the chicken fries thread gets to 10 pages. Get on it.
After touring two continents and releasing three albums as The Strange Boys, Ryan Sambol began working on and recording new material both as a solo project and with the band Living Grateful. In 2012, he completed the solo LP Now Ritual while living in San Francisco. The Living Grateful album, Peace Mob, was made in Austin during the summer of 2013. In addition, Ryan recorded After Lunch, a session at Bob's Magic Music in Morocco, in 2013. Currently, Ryan Sambol is in the studio completing the new record Rail Sing.
We are excited to announce our partnership with Ryan Sambol and the Forever Wet Paint Company as we prepare release this archive of work. Details on the albums are coming soon. Ryan Sambol performs at Mohawk in Austin, TX this Thursday, March 5th, before embarking on a European tour. More details can be found at http://punctumrecords.com/ryansambol
These are 2 of my most anticipated LPs of the year.
