You must mean 12th. We already know the 11th album is called Riding the Tides to Eternity.harmless wrote:Love in Fifth Gear = the title of the 11th album.

Oh shit, yeah. Love in Fifth Gear will be the grind-to-a-halt disappointment that fans never expected after the musical monolith that was Riding the Tides to Eternity.Lament wrote:You must mean 12th. Yeah, but now that you've said it, do you really think there's any way that's NOT the name of album #12?

"It's like. You've got love, right? And it's, umm, there's like, different kinds. And as you, umm, grow up, umm, they get more intense. Like how when you're driving you shift gears, right? And like, maybe the first gear is how you love your parents when you're like a kid. And then when you get older it's your friends, that's second gear. And then you get, like, married, and that's like third gear, and you think that's the highest gear of love, right, umm, till you have kids, and that's fourth gear. And umm, fourth gear is like really intense, and you think that's the highest gear, or at least I did. But then I found a fifth gear. And that fifth gear is the love of surfing naked on a board made of endangered animals in a private body of water owned by the Oracle Corporation and filled with the tears of starving third world children while you're completely fucked out of your mind on a drug that the US government secretly designed for only the richest human beings on the plant. And it's amazing."

I gotta admit as I read the quotes I thought sounds like Stip. Not a bad thing I enjoy reading your stuff even when I don't agree.

C'mon, Stip writes nothing like that guy. That review reads like an excerpt from a Sylvia Browne book with a few random Pearl Jam song titles thrown in--take them out and there's virtually nothing in there to indicate that he's even talking about a rock album. Stip's writing is nowhere near that incomprehensible, it only seems that way because his opinions so often are.

That dude used to post here.
Firecloud wrote:I feed, educate and clothe my kids with what I do on the internet - and I don't have to punch a fucking clock to do it, either. Actually, I'm typing this right now while sitting in an airport in Taiwan, waiting for my connecting flight, where I'll be headed for a weeklong coral reef monitoring trip to the Philippine islands. All expenses paid - all for my "internet job".
As for the joint, that sounds like a wonderful plan - but I hear the prisons out here suck. So I'll wait till I'm back on the mainland.
Pearl Jam has been my uncontested favorite band on Earth since 1991. They've worked hard enough to deserve the benefit of the doubt. That's all I'm saying - I just chose to say it in a highly sarcastic, backhanded way, because after all, it's the internet, right? What good is this shit for besides porn and free music?
Ok back to the fire - I've got a plane to catch.

Is that the same guy who attempted to put you to shame with his "encyclopedic knowledge of Pearl Jam?"
