Why am I not I any way invested or excited about this?

Could it be cos it's a massive cash grab on Star Wars and a bare faced one at that?

And it only has a fraction of the budget of a real Star Wars film which I thought odd.
Studio musnt have any faith in it.

i have devoted next to no time to thinking about this. Once the Force Awaken fog clears I assume that will change.

I was just loling at those saying FA is a tired unimaginative rehash cash grab while they also say this is the only one that'll be any good, when it's clearly the biggest cash grab even more so than the new trilogy.

1. Where are you seeing this? As far as I can tell, no budget has been announced so far.

2. The idea of a studio not having faith in a Star Wars film is laughable.

It has a $30-50 million budget and most of that to push it on the public as a Star Wars movie
Being made cheaply to make it 'feel and look' like the rebellion of the time period.

You have t addressed my main point. It's a blatant cash grab place holder to keep people aware of the Star Wars franchise until episode 8 is ready.

This is the one you're championing.
I'm not saying it won't be amazing. But interest levels for it are minimal.

There is no way in hell this movie is budgeted for $30-$50 million. That is ridiculous. $130-$150, maybe.

How is TFA or any other Star Wars film not a cash grab by your standards? Would Disney have paid $4 billion for the series if they didn't expect to make a trillion dollars off it eventually?

How can it have a budget of only 30-50 million?

I wish I had bet money on "dime will pretend to not be excited about this because LV is excited." I think it closed at like -350

Read it on some of the SW forums.
It's not as big a priority for Disney as the trilogy.

And I'll hopefully love it, no matter to me whether LV Lukes it or not. But given the movies he does like, I probably won't enjoy it at all if it turns out like one of them.
Nothing personal just I'm interested in this story, the established skywalker story.
Not an add on movie that we know the end to already which adds nothing.

It only adds nothing if all that matters to you in movies is story. Which would make sense if you like TFA, I guess.

I don't just like story. I like familiar blaster sounds and previously used references like X wings and Death Stars too.

What are you looking forward to in this film?

Oh my god, I just saw this on Wikipedia:
The film will be shot using Ultra Panavision 70 lenses on 65mm film stock for an undisclosed number of sequences.
Edwards in 65mm might be too much for me to handle. I might die.
