Coulson won't let that happen.

I guess I need to wait and see what the movie is actually about before I weigh in. But Stip's kinda shocking the hell out of me here.

I'm not familiar with the source book or whatever. So I don't know what you mean. But the title makes sense based on the trailer.

Basically the government wants to register everyone with super powers. Cap and Iron man disagree (and generally act out of character) over whether this is a good idea.
in the comics, a group of young teens with powers (new warriors) have a reality show. they are going after a few "D" listers. in the process of trying to grab ratings one of the d listers explodes near a schoolbus and playground. many kids are killed.

between that and a few other instances the government now wants all heroes to register with the government where they will receive training and get paid and be "legit"

cap is against this because he feels working for the government will nowmake them attack dogs to go after other countries instead of stopping threats for the world.

ironman is for this because he would rather kids not do this (never mind that he was a kid when he started, as were others)

so basically this causes a divide down the hero community. some agree with tony and some with steve.

in the end steve gives up because he sees this is what the american people want

That sounds really cool.

Do we really think the movie will be brave enough to follow that storyline to the end?

Cap against, Tony for?

That's what I got from the trailer. But why is Stip saying Cap's on the wrong side of this? Surely "mutant registration" isn't a good thing.
You'd register a gun, wouldn't you?
yeah but owning a gun isn't like owning a superhero, stip.

TEAM SMAUG
Superpowers don't kill people. People kill people
not true, there have been several cases where a mutant just got his powers which was to emit a toxic gas.

fury sent wolverine in off the books to off the kid which wolverine did begrudgingly

Judging by the trailer it looks like Marvel is going for something along the lines of the Winter Soldier is framed by the remnants of Hydra for a devastating terrorist attack. Cap knows Winter Soldier didn't do it. Iron man thinks the Winter Soldier committed the act. Hydra pulls the strings. Gets the superhero act pushed through congress. Shit storm. Big fight.

Looks good. Excited.

Shouldn't this be in the unintentional poetry thread?

no but as with other storylines they will pull circumstances.

the accords are in direct response to ultron destroying the country so that takes the new warriors out of the equation.

while the heroes arent full fledged out of control tony sees them as needing to register while cap again feels the need to be autonomous with what they are sent in to combat.

in the books the civil war leveled part of NYC and thats when cap realized he was not so much in the wrong but in trying to prove his point became the types of people they sought to protect the world from.

there are a ton of other undercurrents in the storyline that add to it but wont get addressed (my guess)

such as spiderman unmasks for tony's side to show how serious this has become.

stark in the past kept a hair from one of the avengers first meetings and used it to build a cyborg thor (clor) that ends up killing a hero

the illuminatti once again gathers (charles xavier, namor, ironman, mister fantastic, blackbolt, and doctor strange

shows nick fury who has been ousted from shield helping cap in the background. he does this because he thinks something stinks at shield (he is right as it is over run with skrulls. in the movie these were lokis henchmen in the first avengers and were shape shifters. the invaded earth to subjegate its people because the illuminati invaded the skrull throne world to put a stop to the kree/skrull war)

I think one of the other central undercurrents is the explosion the trailer shows. I think that may be the last straw after the destruction that took place during the age of ultron.

I guess I just wonder if Marvel will have the guts to end the movie with Captain America giving in and saying registration is necessary. I'm guessing not.

Yeah, I think that's what makes the most sense and what I'd like to see most, actually.
