Insurrection is probably the worst.
Undiscovered Country might be the best.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Nemesis and insurrection are by far the worst of the modern ones.

Galaxy Quest is better than all of them, though.

Act One is great. Then it gets totally bonkers and the ending can't do any of the heavy lifting its required to do. Ultimately its uneven and uninteresting. And the ending is just awful. Huge copout.BurtReynolds wrote:I don't think I've ever seen The Final Frontier. I hear its pretty bad.

Man I love Final Frontier. Especially its ending. Maybe my all time favorite Kirk moment.

Re: Film: Star Trek Beyond (2016)
Star Trek doesn't make for great movies. Most of what makes it what it is gets lost in translation. Characters are reduced, philosophy becomes an inconvenience, theme gets bludgeoned into submission by the need for bigger and louder and kaboom. Man, TV Picard is a great character. Movie Picard is barely a character at all.
Most of those multitudes of movies are fun, dumb scifi-lite trips, but none of them are particularly Star Trek.
