Aaah. Even if they made Perth I wouldn't have been able to regardless, but still...
Enjoy Adam - these guys are one of the biggies.
The 'UK Surf' version of Wave of Mutilation remains one of my favourite tunes. Although it's hardly as if Pixies have a shortage of great ones.

I'm missing this too. Second baby due that week and there's no chance for a leave pass.

Cheers, we'll have one of each too. Certainly keeps you on the edge though at this point we can't even fathom more than one.

The new album is not nearly as terrible as critics are making it out to be. I find it downright enjoyable.

It's really weird; almost everybody I've talked to has really enjoyed the new music, but there's a core group of "top critics" who have really trashed it. The cynical side of me wants to say that they're following Pitchfork's sensationalist lead (and I am a constant defender of Pitchfork, but the scores they gave to those EPs were clearly poking for a reaction).

Maybe it's like when almost every veteran band puts out a mediocre album that fans like because that's what fans do?

Hey, this still RULES.
What a pleasant surprise.
I haven't spun the album in a while but I threw this song on first thing this morning and it's still a stone cold jam.

I'd suppose I'd be in for that since I've been listening to them a lot these days, but my knowledge is probably not deep enough. I'm very recent to most of their stuff.

Finally pulled the trigger on the MFSL versions of Doolittle and surfer on wax. Wow. They sound immense. My 4ad copies sounded pretty great. But there is no comparison. Huge huge sound. Punchy, bombastic (the good kind) very impressed. Among the best sounding records I own. Super crankable.
