I have a alot of gripes about GC, but pricing isn't one of them. They price match and as a buddy recently proved they have dummies in there that can't tell the right product from the wrong one when comparing. He got a $1700 MusicMan bass for around $1300, with pretty minimal haggling.

Too much of the same shit in stock all the time- I hardly ever go in there, but it's pretty much the same gear every time. There might be a few guitars and amps that I'd add to the collection, but they just seem to be peddling mostly worthless shit every time I go in there.

They let everybody paw all over their high end stuff- Not trying to be snobby, but it's not hard to tell if somebody is seriously considering dropping a few grand or at least legitimately attempting to see how a guitar in a lower price range is stacking up

I'm loving it and I've never been a big fan of chorus.

i grabbed a couple of quick family photos yesterday.

-guitars L-R: LTD EC-401-B, Gibson SG, DBZ Barchetta ST-FR-7, Epiphone G400 SG (with EMG's), Squire P Bass, Epiphone PR-650-N
-the amp is just a Vox Valvetronix 100w, good little rig for bedroom playing. My main rig is a Mesa Boogie Dual Rec through a Randall straight cab loaded with V30's. There's also a Mesa 212 behind the bass and acoustic that i use for smaller rooms.
-the pedalboard is a mess. i'm currently running a planet waves tuner, crybaby wah, homemade bypass looper, mooer shimverb, JOYO tremolo and flanger, Boss Phase Shifter and DD-3 delay (w Keeley mod) and an MXR Carbon Copy. i've got a whole arsenal of other pedals tucked away in the closet.

I always get nervous when I think about hanging my guitars. I feel like they'll eventually crash to the floor. Can't stomach it.

I'm sure the effects are negligible if you're playing regularly, but that's just the worst way to store a guitar....high off the ground by the weakest part of a guitar.

Yep. That's why I stick with the padded multi-guitar floor racks. Single stands take up too much room if you have a bunch of different instruments. If you get a 5 or 7 space rack, it works really well.

if you hang them properly there's nothing to worry about. nothing to get squeamish about . however i've found that those hanger kits you buy usually come with very cheap short screws. i use a couple of heavy duty 2" screws per wall hanger and secure them directly in the stud.

Nice collection mf. I like the room. Looks like a nice place to play and do a little creating.

I'd be scared to hang my guitars though, studs and 2 inch screws or not. I'm not too worried about the guitar bodies, just the necks.

yeah it's a cozy little spot (the fisheye lens makes it look a LOT bigger than it really is )

haha, well it's got a variable wattage dial on it so i turn it down to 0.1W and push the preamp hard for a nice breakup at low volume. it struggles to get a good sound at band volume but it's good for practice. realistically i didn't need this model but i got it used for a good price so i jumped on it. i've been eyeing an Orange Dark Terror or Jim Root edition (or maybe even one of the new OR15's) if i can find one for the right price.

Thats kind of how I work my twin Reverb II. ALthough Im not certain which volume works the pre amp and which doesnt there are like 3 master volume knobs on front ,1 in the back and some mods

So some of you know this was my most recent purchase:



I still love this thing. The tone, the weight, the versatility - IM a huge P90 fan and I love the thinline make of it all...

But im contemplating spicing it up a bit. A new pickguard? Rid it of those volume knobs? I dont know. What do you folks thing? was thinking of putting ont he standard tele chrome dome knobs and getting a min t green pickguard.

Although that picture makes it look very sleek and vigilant. Fuck it.

don't change the pickguard, but chrome knobs would look nice.

I always put chrome knobs on my project guitars. I actually wish I had a few with nice tophats like that. If you're confident with a drill and your wood working abilities, you could wire in a kill switch for the stutter-button effect. And a dark tortoise-shell pickguard in a nice burnt reddish brown might look all right, but honestly, it looks pretty rad as is.

or just kill the volume on which ever pickup not being used. then use the pickup toggle switch for the same effect.

A friend of mine gave me a few of these Dunlop grip picks to try out. Pretty cool. Doesn't move around even when you start to sweat a bit.
