I thought I would be bothered by the autotune but I’m not.

There's certain times where it don't bother me but others where it's completely obnoxious.. like the first track

It's funny bec when the album ended spotify goes to random related tracks.. a voidz song came on.. it fit in so much w the autotune I thought it was the actual album.. it was prob better than any autotuned stuff on the album tbh

Is it on every track? I found it massively off-putting on the single.

I don’t mind the autotune/vocoder, if there’s anything holding this one back for me is that I’m still blown away by Frozen Charlotte.

I hate the auto-tune. I love these guys, loved Julian’s solo album, and do like the music on this new one. The vocal effects are no bueno.

They've used vocal effects from the very start, though I guess auto-tune is a little different from that distortion they used on Is This It

My god this is terrible. And they got a horrific review from their show a bit ago here in Minnesota. I think these guys fucking hate being in the strokes and ar ejust fucking with us now.

Neil Young did this better 40 years ago on Trans.

Yea… not like this. Vocal effects are one thing, but this is in your face, auto tune as a feature. The music is good, songs will probably be good live.

I wonder if they'll use the autotune live. Not unheard of especially if they're using it as an aesthetic tool and not just for pitch correction

Listening right now. Im not a Strokes fans by any means, i havent even fully listened to most of their albums but i guess this is ok? the autotune might be a bit much in some moments but overall i feel its an ok listen.

Im wondering if i should see them live, they are coming here in november and i only saw them twice as a part of pj20.

Success probably came too quickly and easily for them. They appear to come from money - boarding schools etc. Hence the lack of putting out music or touring much. But I like what they put out.

The only bad thing I can say about Reality Awaits is the oversized gatefold.
I’ll have to shop around for an outer sleeve that fits.
Not to mention that I eff’ed up and stuck the decal on a sleeve that doesn’t fit the damn thing.
