Ok, tree_
Whoa!
That's fucking mean, man.
It was. I apologize. Please accept my apology.
I accept. But I'm still a little wounded. Just give me a minute.
My comment had more to do with that stupid Apathy thread he started than it was comparing you to him. I would never do that.

Have you guys listened to the podcast?
I just looked in the index for ESB and went to all the pages listed until I found it.

In all honesty, I just don't think this is a big deal. If someone hadn't pointed it out, I would never know. Of all the things to bemoan about the SE, this one feels pretty minor.

I think it’s effin awesome.
There are people losing their minds.
As if they somehow didn’t know Lucas made changes to the untouchable masterpiece that is empire strikes back.

I hope you’re not including me in that group.

Not you pal.
Yknow those people that complain about everything no matter what it is?
Those people.

I can't imagine who'd you be thinking about....
Also, I think it's stupid if they did use Hayden to reshoot scenes in ESB.

I *think* the conversation palps and Vader have about luke in that scene is different in the special edition than that in the original.
fairly sure it’s dofferent. Maybe even a line or two longer. I’ll have to check.
I’m gonna have to check. Pretty sure James earl jones was part of doing extra dialogue for the SE.

Watching this now. The movie looks fantastic, and Harrison Ford is at his very best.
Battle of Hoth coming up. It was filmed in Norway.

What strikes me is how vulnerable Luke is in both IV and V, especially before training with Yoda. Don’t think we have seen that in the sequels.

This got me thinking - all three new protagonists have been captured by the New Order, and escaped within... three scenes of that?

Had to pause for an hour or so, but now we’re on Dagobah. Atmospheric. Look forward to Yoda.

It’s also both funny and sad that it is Luke who is the difficult one in both Empire and TLJ. Yoda has to be convinced by Obi-Wan, since Yoda thinks Luke is too old and impatient to be trained.

«I am your father» - what a scene. One of the very best.

He’s not difficult. He wants to save his friends. That is totally unselfish and human and understandable
He’s not difficult in TLJ either but let’s not.

He is difficult in TESB, but not because he wants to help his friends. We can take the TLJ discussion another time.

The quotes only show half the story, it may be understandable, and we might have reacted the same way, but he is never as calm as Obi-Wan or Rey.
Yoda : Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph! Adventure. Heh! Excitement. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless!
Yoda : Why wish you become Jedi?
Luke : Well, mostly because of my father, I guess.
Yoda : Ahh... father. Powerful Jedi was he. Powerful Jedi.
Luke : [suspcious] Oh, come on! How can you know my father? You don't even know who I am. Oh, I don't even know what I'm doing here! We're wasting our time!
Yoda : [Looking away from Luke] I cannot teach him. The boy has no patience.
Obi-Wan : [voice-over] He will learn patience.
Yoda : Much anger in him... like his father.
Obi-Wan : [voice] Was I any different when you taught me?
[Luke's ship sinks into the mud]
Luke : We'll never get it out now!
Yoda : So certain are you. Always with you what cannot be done. Hear you nothing that I say?
Yoda : I am wondering, why are you here?
Luke : I'm looking for someone.
Yoda : Looking? Found someone, you have, I would say, hmmm?
Luke : Right...
Yoda : Help you I can. Yes, mmmm.
Luke : I don't think so. I'm looking for a great warrior.
Yoda : Ohhh. Great warrior.
[laughs and shakes his head]
Yoda : Wars not make one great.
