I've never been able to get into Wilco. I have their self-titled album and it was ok. Everyone seems to love them, but it's never really clicked for me.
you're into heavier stuff though right?

i think the self-titled album is their worst album (sky blue sky being the second-worst).

The writing on those two seemed so uninspired. I think tweedy was having a difficult time finding his talents whilst being sober, ya?

Although bull black nova is great

Not always. I like some alt-country, country and folk (The Sadies, Murder by Death, Dylan, Cash... that sort of thing)

That might have something to do with it. I'm pretty sure I've listened to some of their other albums, but I can't really remember any of it.

i remember when i first heard the opening moments of that track, i was thinking, "wow, this is YHF material." then it just kept droning on without really changing, and i changed my mind and skipped it. i really don't like that album.

maybe droning was the wrong way to describe a song i don't like, because i do enjoy the droning moments on AGIB. the songs on SBS, self-titled, and a fair amount of TWL just seem static. so much of what appealed to me about wilco from being there through AGIB was that the songs ended in such a different place from where they began.
