loved episode 4...the jail scenes are pretty great..and i like Naz going to freddie for help...that other black fella is going to have a nice moment for sure.
Also, more Box and Stone together please.

Just finished the newest episode
This show is really gripping.

I've changed from trying to determine what actually happened that night to just enjoying the ride and letting it figure it self out. I can always go back after it wraps up

Stone is going to find something in these little videos he is filming. But I still don't think the step dad is involved. Despite the scene we saw tonight

Crowe showed her true colours pretty quickly. But I really felt for Naz getting all this conflicting advice from all sides.

Did expect Naz to go to Freddie for help eventually but what will be the cost? I don't see that Naz has anything he needs or can do for him. But let's see. Maybe he just wants to protect him cos he can?

Agreed about the videos. Stone is definitely going to have a eureka moment and put it all together. Or maybe he has already and the continued videoing is solidifying his idea.

I think Freddy made it pretty clear why he wants Naz on his side: no one else in that cell block can match wits with Freddy intellectually, and he wants Naz to be his book club buddy. However: Naz is still on thin ice, as (a) Freddy could get bored pretty easily, who knows? And (b) He's already slipped up once by refusing his gift of the book, which is insulting even though he's already read it.

I guess Crowe did what she had to, make the best plea for Naz. She wasnt going to invest time in another thing.

Also, James Gandolfini was originally going to play the Stone role, then DeNiro after his death. They ended up with Turturro obviously. The series has been in the works for a long time, based off of a British series, Criminal Justice, each version of which followed one case through the criminal justice system.

I feel like the "he wants to help me because he likes me" reason is too easy. There's gotta be more to it. Plus the sparring scene shows us that Freddy is kind of a psychopath, bordering on sadistic. I still don't think Naz can really trust him.

Agreed but Freddy gets no rep or anything from hurting Naz in any way. Naz is too small fry and unable to stand up to him.

It's probably Freddy maintaining/extending his dominance over the other inmates by looking after Naz, when so many want to hurt Naz. So freddys like 'you come at the King you best not miss' to borrow a phrase.

This week perked my interest back up. We're halfway through now & I'm sure I'll see it through.
Oh, and I wouldn't last 5 minutes in prison.
