This EP was the first complete NIN release I've listened to since Year Zero. Meh, didn't do much for me. Seems like I haven't been missing anything.

I like The Slip a lot, but i get what you mean.

Hesitation Marks has some nice high points. The jam at the end of In Two comes to mind.

Also important - though maybe lost in the yelling - is the news that there are two more EPs coming out this year.

Just the reissues that have already been up for pre-order for nearly six months; I think it makes total sense: gives a bit back to those of us who have been waiting for a while (even though it's still "spring" and the releases aren't ridiculously late), but prevents people from canceling their previous orders and then just re-ordering with the code. There's plenty of other good music to order besides those reissues, and hopefully the With Teeth reissue will be coming in the fall.

The Deviations LPs are arriving with plenty of controversy: these were packaged very poorly and some people are getting very beat up copies (mine was a little smushed, I would say). It's also a 4-LP set squeezed into a 2-LP sleeve, with no booklet or artwork besides the cover or printed inner sleeves, so there's a lot of hand wringing over the first release in this reissue series.
