In Violent Nature.

The gimmick is cool and fun but the movie just gets repetitive and boring. Some cool death scenes the yoga girl being the best one.

This was very fun but also kinda of unfocused at the end. But it looked great too, and i love how cinematic is too. Great cast.

I would have loved it to be way more gory tough.

It was a dissapoinment for me sadly. Really stupid ending and didnt care for any of the characters at the end. Missed oportunity.

Yeah maybe the worst of them all, but I wasn’t a big fan of Xxx either. I did have a lot of fun with how cinematic this one was, but I needed way more gore than I got.

Watched Hausu for the first time in a long time, and it still doesn't really do much for me.

Luz(2018)

im very exited for Cuckoo, and this being the first movie of Tilman Singer kinda show he has visual chops but this is a very frustrating movie that tries to be way more clever than its crowd and i hate that.

this is more or less what I wrote on Facebook about "I Saw the TV Glow"

just got back from "I Saw The TV Glow"; I don’t really know what to say; I could use all the hyperbole I have in me for this existential horror beauty and it wouldn't be enough

we both (my bf and I) cried lots, gasped in recognition, then sat in stunned silence unable to get up out of our seats for 5 minutes at the end

I'm very grateful to Jane Schoenbrun and all involved, really, for making one of those "once in a lifetime" movies for this UK trans couple; and what a time to be alive and a horror film fan for me

when it's available I'll be streaming it at home with the curtains drawn, lights off (other than a pink night light), and a giant popcorn bucket full of estrogen

yeah i agree with your view. A few questions i have:
Spoiler: show
I think the movie is pretty obvious on its core subject, the feeling you are actually somebody else and the impossibility the main character have to embrace that feeling. Do you feel the ending, with him saying sorry almost embarrassed, is a direct comment on out current situation were trans people arent really allowed to have a say in a lot of ways?

scenes like that are open to so many interpretations but yeah, I'd say that's a good read of it; we are relegated to quiet observers of a conversation people are having about us, around us, and the need to keep quiet and watch without contributing causes a rage to build up; but God forbid you let it out, or you will be vilified and made to apologise; you could say Owen is doing that in advance of even being made to (he's not "out" yet so rather than being mad at his rage, people don't seem to care or notice something highly significant to him), because he's internalised so much silent shame about his identity

Yeah very cool

Also
Spoiler: show
I read somewhere that his choice of not to really went for it, his fear of thinking that he might be someone else is really what gets him at the end. Reminded me a lot of Twin Peaks last season

yeah I think the movie is about what happens when you bury your most fundamental self, over and over again; just think of how angry he gets that Maddie can read him so well, when he doesn't want to be "read"; the movie kind of ends at a point where we don't know if he'll answer the deep call within, or he won't; Jane Schoenbrun has talked about wanting to make a third film in their thematic "screen trilogy" (the first being We're All Going to the World's Fair) which explores the "transition" stage; I hope that happens!

yeah i need to We're All Going to the World's Fair with this in mind.
I was also pleasantly surprised with how good she got visually, one of the things i didnt quite liked about the first one is that it was very talkative, something that the new one still have, but she completely grown as a filmmaker in terms of visuals and vibe.

Alien Romulus was good, with a few surprises. Too much fan service though. I think fs works well only in comic movies but that's it. When is utilize in others franchises feels forced and cheap.
