Glad Francona won manager of the year,, it was ridiculous that he never won it all those years in Boston. Plus, getting the Indians as far as he did was more impressive than what Farrell did(in the regular season.)

there are no good catchers in MLB right now, it's not that outrageous of a deal.

That's absolutely no reason to give three years and that much money to a catcher who won't give you more than 110 games 1/3 into the contract.

Yeah, they've certainly cornered the market on being saddled with bloated contracts with aging players.

I don't have a problem with the contract, and I would have been fine if the Jays had signed him to a similar deal. It's just that... the Phillies kind of aren't very good, almost all of their top players should be expected to decline, and they're acting like a team on the verge of being a World Series contender.

Amaro should have been gone the second he signed the Howard deal.

I wonder what Salty will get now.....

That puts salty in line for something like 4/50 I would think.
