I love what Marvel did with their movies, but I don't see it as a template.
Agreed I don't get the too crowded complaint for BvS.

What started out as "batman vs superman" turned into batman vs superman for a little while until a bigger threat comes and then a bunch of other magical super hero's show up and then they all have to come together as one to defeat this big thing so that the world wont explode and then make more movies and have a bit of animosity against each other and then Avengers
Spoilers!

On paper it looks that way. Of course it all comes down to presentation and it could totally be fine.

Just to make Bada feel uncomfortable I agree with him. I don't see a problem with the number of characters per se. And I like some of the choices they've made. I do have some concerns about the story telling since I don't trust Snyder to handle characters well, and I think there's a tendency for his spectacle to reach a level of diminishing returns quite quickly. But that's the case with one character or ten. Guardians introduced more people than BVS:DOJ:TTIP, after all
What may hurt DC with their approach is that Marvel has done an amazing job with their characters--not simply the casting (which has been great) but in making it so that each of these people are just really likable people you want to root for and spend time with, flaws and all. And so thinner characterizations are likely to seem more problematic by the eventual comparison. People really committed to these kinds of films will see both, but 2016 is the year market saturation really hits, and for movie goers who are going to make a choice DC may end up on the wrong side of that choice.

We both agree that there will be "many more World Trade Centers" if Trump's temporary ban on Muslim immigration is not put in place.

This is the real issue for me, too. The number of new characters isn't a bad thing in and of itself. But it will all depend on how it's handled and how much detail/set up they try to shoehorn with each new character. AND when you couple that with Snyder, the whole prospect becomes much more worrisome.

So, it seems there is going to be ¨bigger villain¨ by the end of the movie.
Enter Darkseid?
