All guitars sound (basically) the fucking same so it really doesnt matter. It all comes down to how they look and what other gear you are using and fingers.
Mostly agree except some are very cheap total pieces of shit, like the Glarry bass I got just to have a bass.
yea but generally SOUND the same.

Not if the strings keep (non rhythmically) bumping into the neck

You're not going to (easily) mistake an electric guitar for a drumkit or a tuba - but there are definitely a whole bunch of legitimate sonic variances between different guitar models.

I saw this at GC yesterday and I am curious, what is that large metal plate for that covers the strings?

Way back in the mid to late 50s exposed pickups were considered unsightly. I've also heard they provided a means to reduce interference, but this is heavily disputed.
With that Jackson it's little more than an aesthetic throwback. I think they look like shit and they absolutely do get in the way. Most people actually ended up removing them for use as an ashtray!

this reminds me that my dad bought this for me while he was on a road trip through nebraska in the early 80s..i had just started to play my old gold top hondo les paul copy that was $100 about 2 years prior..he upgraded me...check out that headstock..
This is such a gorgeous guitar.

Yes, absolutely. Although felt/foam under the bridge saddle also does the trick.

For sure gets in the way. I picked it up and that’s right where my hand wanted to be.
