Is that the scene where he's singing? I think the nudity in that scene was imagined by Freddie. It is seen from his perspective as he's nodding out. The handjob scene does establish his wife's dominance over him; whether that points to his homosexuality / feelings towards Freddie is an interesting question, but I think it more directly speaks to their marital dynamic (as does the early scene of her ranting angrily as he types quietly).

I believe PTA has said before that the movie is a love story between Dodd and Freddie. Take that as you will.

I never got the impression he was gay. He just loved life. And sweet sweet power.

None of this matters anyway since Dodd and Freddie are the same person.

Patriots Day is terrific. Peter Berg is on a roll.

Watched Sully and Goosebumps lately (via HBO).

Sully was good. What that guy did was just amazing. The movie itself was engaging with a great supporting cast. I forgot that it was an Eastwood movie.

Goosebumps was dumb but entertaining enough. My daughter wanted to watch something spooky, this seemed to fit the bill, so we watched it.

There's also a lot of shots that looked (at least in my theater) like a grainy mpeg from Myst every time they showed what was happening underwater. Oh and if you wanted context for the suddenly underwater shots? Nope. It's failing, that much is obvious, but the how and why are left unanswered.

Yeah, some of the effects with that water shots were weird...but once the whole things blows there are some very cool shots there...i kinda get why Berg gets so much shit over his movies, the guy is really strange and pro america and its almost impossible not to hate him...but he is getting better with each movie.

Oh yeah, the stuff above-water was amazing. My son was working on a report about the event for school when we saw it in the theater so he was excited about it.
