The other day we learned that my wife's cousin died in the hospital (he was 47). The next day I learned that my cousin (46) was killed. This feels like an extremely bad joke. We're reeling and it feels like there's no ground to stand on.

That’s horrific. I had a cousin shoot up his parents’ house when I was in high school. He was in his early twenties. There was a picture of him on the ground with the cops arresting him on the front page of the paper. It was awful. He died in his early 30s. Drugs. It completely fractured that side of my family. I’m very sorry, Joey.
