Been hanging around the house most of the day as the builders had to remove our front door to address water getting in. They appear to finally be wrapping it up.

i decided i'd need to install metal re-enforcement brackets if this thing'll ever have a chance of not breaking again, but of course the screws were a few mm too long and poke out the front of the door, which is aesthetically displeasing. furthermore, the brackets - while quite thin - have just enough girth to them that the door now does not slide open and close nearly as easily. i could see myself wanting to junk this thing in a week (we did get our money back for the POS), but i'm sure my wife will tell me to just live with it. what the fuck is this life, indeed.
