I don't buy into that one. Neither does Joanna Lannister.

Me neither. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm tired of secret identities. We'll find out about R+L=J soon enough, and then the Hound is the gravedigger, but that's all I see coming / hope for.

Reid, I'm going to do everything I can to limit spoilers when I know you're in this thread, but with that said you're in a dangerous thread if you want to 100% avoid them. However, my word of advice is not to worry to much about them. You know a lot from the shows already, and this story is most rewarding for the journey and the world building.
Or, may I suggest you start another thread called "Reid Reads ASOIAF" to discuss it as you go, and the rule there can be no spoilers beyond what you've already read, unless it's something you ask about?

this'd set a dangerous precedent, chud. everyone will be screaming for a GoT sub forum before we know it.

I'm all for making exceptions for long time established posters. And Reid.
Also, when he finishes we can merge it with the main thread.

The "...and Reid" bit was kind of hurtful, chud.

I really like this short passage:
"Maester Luwin made a little boy of clay, baked him till he was hard and brittle, dressed him in Bran's clothes, and flung him off a roof. Bran remembered the way he shattered. 'But I never fall,' he said, falling."

Regarding the Bran/Hodor/time-travelish things I mentioned in the show thread: aren't there a number of examples of people feeling like Weirwood trees are speaking to them? Couldn't that be a greenseer just barely poking through?
