Yeah, but it was very well done and looks gorgeous too. I saw a bit of Resurrection last night and so far its has no aged well. Very much a capsule of its time.

Ill finish it today.

Alien: Resurrection.

Did a re watch of this one, as im going trough the whole series again. Man, this one is tricky. I liked it when it came out, i saw it in the theatre and i enjoyed how fun and light seemed to be, specially coming from the dark and gritty Alien 3.

But with time this one is, no doubt, the lesser sequel. Whedon´s humor doesnt work here, most of the dialogue is pretty awful and the intention of getting again a group of misfits like in Aliens is out of the question with how hollow and boring these characters are. They just need to shut up.

But there are still some redeemable stuff here, a few shots from Jeunet, the production design of some scenes, Weaver is amazing as a Ripley 8, Ryder is miscast but she is still ok, there are some gory moments (the newborn killing Cruz) and some very cool photography here and there.

CGI is dated and awful and some stuff looks straight from a tv series or something.

I do like the ending of the theatrical cut.

Im still very glad they did a course correction with Prometheus.

I should rewatch this. To me is a b movie with great photography and production. I dont take it seriously, is just stupid fun, like a parody of the Alien franchise if you will. Im totally fine with that.

yeah, it feels like it too.
The movie looks good on some moments, not so good on other and mostly dated. Its very 2000-ish, even if its from 1997. It sure feels like a pilot for a tv series.

Well, its Jeunet and Whedon and it does feel like those two.

Im very happy that the franchise went for Ridley Scott and Alvarez next.

Now that Disney know they can make money with Alien, what I would really love is that Ridley finish his trilogy, while Fede make more traditional Alien movies.

Eventhough, they kinda tease David's plan with the mass production of the facehuggers.

I just want weird shit from Ridley.

yeah, me too. Let him tell the whole David story.

Im not sure that was David´s plan maybe it was Weyland Yutani.

I was talking about David's plan in Covenant with all the alien embryos is similar to what they did in Romulus.

yeah i know but i still feel David was working more on the beasts themselves as a perfect organism while Weyland seems to be interested on the black goo or the beasts as a medium to something else.

It would be interesting to see if David comes back to the company or tries to end it. Or the other way around.

Scott needs to finish their movies goddamn

Longlegs was good, more of a thriller with horror elements, but maybe you already know that. Once the baddie is onscreen, it looses some of the mystic. Strong ending.
