Absolutely despicable that the cops on hand didn’t bother shooting these thugs.For 30 minutes, protesters held signs reading “Fix our Subways” and “Abolish NYPD.” Hundreds of NYPD officers, many of them carrying zip ties, were stationed around the terminal to monitor the demonstrations.
NYPD officials said multiple protesters were arrested Friday night, although they couldn’t immediately say how many. Some of those arrests occurred after protesters left the terminal and marched along Manhattan streets, the officials said.
The MTA, which operates the subway and Grand Central, said the protests had no effect on commuter-rail service out of the terminal and minimal impact on subway service.
