As careful as I've been to avoid spoilers, ..
- Spoiler: show
- I've heard the adventures of Jamie and Bronn is not a book thing. And I'm freaking psyched to see where this story goes.
Am I the only one who's worried about the storyline departing from the book? The creators have been successful because they're telling Martin's story. Now it's like they're saying "We'll take it from here George." Martin's a great story teller. I can't imagine someone else will be great at creating HIS story.
- Spoiler: show
- the Jamie and Bronn thing not being from the book doesn't surprise me. That felt out of place to me the whole time.

I never read the books, so it's interesting to read that there's a significant departure from the books this season. It's interesting because, so far, this season has been underwhelming.

Look, I've never been one to shy away from dead horse beating, but I loved book four. It's not as HOLY SHIT OH MY GOD CAN YOU BELIEVE action packed as book 3, but other than that, I think it's every bit as good. It's probably my favorite book in the series. It's reveals and twists are so sexy and subtle. I'm a little bummed that it seems like they're excising most of it. But I also understand why they want to do that. The expansion of the world is a lot to ask for 5 years into a TV series.
So far, I'm fine with the changes being made in the series. Though, I was VERY underwhelmed by (FROM THE MOST RECENT EPISODE) the choosing of the new Lord Commander. That was so... boring. The book definitely handled that better.
Why has this show be unable to do justice to the Night's Watch and The Wall? So much of it feels neutered compared to the books. Which has been a shame. Still, entertaining enough TV, but I'd call their handling of that stuff a bit of a miss.
