I guess I'm still in a bad place with the Dolphins because I decided to believe and have hope last offseason and that didn't go very well at all. I'll work on not being too negative, but hearing "Jesse Davis has been traded to the arena league" or "Austin Jackson is retiring from the NFL to pursue a career in competitive gaming" would go a long way.

When pressed specifically about the envisioned role Dolphins coaches presented to him during free agency, Bridgewater responded:

“Honestly, man, that’s a conversation I’d rather keep in house. It’s a unique opportunity for me for this organization. And I’m happy that I could be a part of it this season. I’m going to be the best version of Teddy that I can be, helping the way that I know that I can help, being genuine and still giving my all to this game.”

Asked directly if he expects to back up Tua or if there might be a quarterback competition, Bridgewater replied:

“That’s something that the coaches and I, we talked about, and I’m confident and that conversation is really something that I’d rather not discuss.”

Yeah I really thought he was just using Miami for leverage. Hopefully he stays healthy.

The way it appears, with the very reasonable contract, they expect it's likely he won't play every game. So his influence on all their young linemen is integral. They need someone like him. Hopefully a Jackson would be able to step in improved after several weeks of mentorship.

I'm fine with the picks. He's worth it. Waddle and Hill on the same field!
