Re: The Official GIGATON Thread (real tracklists released!)
If the tracks BoB is on were from sessions earlier in the process, can any of you think of any other examples for which a producer of a band's prior album played on tracks for a subsequent album which they themselves did not produce?
Seems really odd to me. Were they really that short on new material, or are those two songs so outstanding that they felt compelled beyond choice to include them?

We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Not pleased to hear that everyone has a lyrical contribution. I think Nothing As It Seems has the only non-Edddie lyrical contribution I like in the whole catalog, and there are quite a few songs I would like even more if he had written the lyrics.

Extremely fortunate to have received a review copy of the new Pearl Jam album - Gigaton. It's so great and think most of you will fall instantly in love with it. Look out for a full review over at Pancakes and Whiskey in the coming days. ✌

I'm home sick today. It would be a really convenient time to leak.

Not sure, but i guess they really like those or at least a version of those.oneway23 wrote:If the tracks BoB is on were from sessions earlier in the process, can any of you think of any other examples for which a producer of a band's prior album played on tracks for a subsequent album which they themselves did not produce?

Steinway, B3, Moog....so many great textures. No idea why this man insists on a Casio keyboard set to "Save the Last Dance for Me" a la my Dad when I was a kid.
You sounded great Pop, don't worry. You're not a professional producer!
This jabroni, however....

Hoping O'Brien's contributions are more Around the Bend and less Future Days. Not thinking that's likely, though.

Is it going to be like that stupid Neil Young live album where instead of the audience you hear a bunch of animal noises?

More likely to hear them splashing into the ocean. Not much ice left for them to stand on.verb_to_trust wrote:I want to hear polar bears huffing and growling as their feet scrape the ice
Ooof...Still trying to figure that out. Decent live album otherwise ruined by utter insanity (Udder insanity? N'ah..can't do ittheplatypus wrote:Is it going to be like that stupid Neil Young live album where instead of the audience you hear a bunch of animal noises?

like the characterization of the theme of the album in the reviews but am not digging overt political references because i always find that they don't age well.
