Yeah, leave it all to the "she was a stunner and I am stunned" guystip wrote:guys, this is NOT a good thing...ghost wrote:jeff, stone and matt writing lyrics again....![]()

Eddie has some clunkly lyrics on occasion. Stone and Matt in particular rarely have a line that lands. Jeff, at his best, is okay.verb_to_trust wrote:Yeah, leave it all to the "she was a stunner and I am stunned" guystip wrote:guys, this is NOT a good thing...ghost wrote:jeff, stone and matt writing lyrics again....![]()

He certainly does. Been listening to his demos recently from previous albums.scrub12 wrote:This all sounds encouraging. It wasn’t listed as a standout but I’m interested in Take the Long Way because Cameron writes interesting stuff, but also a backing vocalist. That’s a first.
More importantly Jeff has great bass lines. Unfortunately a lot of it gets buried under Ed.stip wrote:Jeff, at his best, is okay.verb_to_trust wrote:Yeah, leave it all to the "she was a stunner and I am stunned" guystip wrote:guys, this is NOT a good thing...ghost wrote:jeff, stone and matt writing lyrics again....![]()

I think Stone and Matt both have some excellent lyrics.stip wrote:Eddie has some clunkly lyrics on occasion. Stone and Matt in particular rarely have a line that lands. I'll actually take "boring" over show-stoppingly embarrassing; as long as there's no "Supersonic gone and took my soul / I caught a rabbit but my cock was slow", I'm happy; so I'm hoping "boring" is just "unassuming" here; if it's solid but doesn't try to draw attention to itself, that will be good and even refreshing at this pointtragabigzanda wrote:Comes Then Goes sounds like it might be boring, but everything else sounds at least interesting. Also excited to hear all this interstitial music/nature sound stuff.
Yeah, a lot of my favorite Pearl Jam songs would sound pretty boring if I only read a description of them in a review. Not worried about that one, yet.Ms Harmless wrote:I'll actually take "boring" over show-stoppingly embarrassing; as long as there's no "Supersonic gone and took my soul / I caught a rabbit but my cock was slow", I'm happy; so I'm hoping "boring" is just "unassuming" here; if it's solid but doesn't try to draw attention to itself, that will be good and even refreshing at this pointtragabigzanda wrote:Comes Then Goes sounds like it might be boring, but everything else sounds at least interesting. I'm excited about background noise / ambience, as well as the possibility that those might cause the tracks to run together; something like the animal snort type noises before "Rival", and we know we have water / ice already; those little auditory flourishes were always archetypally Pearl Jam and I've missed them
