Basically, Don was one of my guys. I'm loyal to my guys, and I blame O'Brien partially for what happened to him. This makes it impossible for me to like or even tolerate him.

Which one is the guy with the super-thick, stereotypical Boston accent?

That's Remy.

Ok. I don't like him.

Don is irreplaceable. All I'm saying is: if Remy decides to hang it up soon (and my bet is that that's going to happen in the next 2-3 years), I hope it's Eck-O'Brien.

The little bit I've heard from people who know O'Brien would make me think numbers' theory is highly unlikely, but stranger things have been true

Just thinking that they'd replace Don because some radio guy wanted the job real bad is enough to think numbers' theory is highly unlikely.
I'm putting my money on money and broken feelings.

Don is gone for one reason and one reason only. Joseph Maar didn't like him.

Today the Sox are doing a 3-man booth with O'Brien, Remy, and Lyons. I am so glad it's a day game and that I'll be at work.

As it turns out, there were plenty of reasons for me to be happy that I worked this afternoon!

Couple things on the TV/Radio side....
I never liked Orsillo....was sad to see Sean McDonough go, but they (Sox) wanted a homer for a broadcaster and Sean was super critical of the team.
O'Brien is a big upgrade over Orsillo. His voice is much better...much better pipes to my ears. And O'Brien is not just radio; he did nat'l ESPN TV, too. And, in his own way, O'Brien takes little jabs at the team and players. My fav combo is O'Brien w/ Eck, although McDonough w/ Eck would be must see TV.

I think we can all agree that Lyons is fucking murder in the booth. He's just making up nicknames for players tonight--Boagie? Bucky? Wtf?

I hope teams keep shifting against Mookie. You can't do that shit against guys who can actually hit situationally.
