So you didn’t like it because of this?

Haven’t got to watch it again yet and they’re all great performances but K2 and the writing for him might be my favourite thing in here performance wise. It’s just on point and light touch and he’s there just at the right moments even deadly serious ones to put a sparkle on it.

‘I’m going to tell them I was kidnapped’ and he waves out the window at the x wings. I honestly haven’t laughed so much at a Star Wars in years. Wonderful stuff. This could be a drama about anything and he brings you back in and reminds you it’s Star Wars. They got him and the writing and humour pitch perfect.

But you’re literally accusing everyone else of hating it for that reason. lol dime. The show sucked because of bad writing and acting, not skin color.

I haven't read the Acolyte thread, but I'll defend dime a little here, in this thread I'm getting the impression he's talking about the fan base at large, not here specifically. Which, if so, he's unfortunately correct. A lot of the hate for that show was disingenuous, especially before it had even aired.

Unrelated, read a Tony Gilroy interview this morning where he mentions Syril recognizing Cassian

I didn’t accuse anyone here of anything. Are you denying the backlash was based in racism and misogyny? lol Ruddo

Happy to acknowledge he recognises Andor in that moment, my point was and remains, they didn’t earn that at all. He hasn’t mentioned Cassian at all and it’s years and years later. They didn’t do the work setting that up.
Yet in these final episodes we see Dedra hasn’t let Axis/Luthen out of her sight at all and he’s often referenced.

*and I was talking about the online backlash and horrific shit that show faced and the actresses in it. This isn’t new and ask Daisy Ridley or Kellie Marie Tran. And to pretend you didn’t know what I meant Ruddo, is just laughable.

Yeah, I dunno if Mendelsohn was always signed onto the project for Season 2, but man oh man, every scene he was in was aces.

One of the funnier things I saw was after Bix left last week was a tweet saying there's no way the plants would be cared for.

Watching the last few episodes and focusing on Kleya Marki. I keep flashing back to the original Star Wars and a woman staring at a screen as the Death Star is getting in position to destroy Yavin. Not sure I'm even remembering that right....maybe it was a woman doing something on a screen on Hoth...in my mind she looks just like Kleya. I'm sure I'm wrong and that character has a name and everything but I think I'll pretend its her.

It’s too soon and I can’t think of other ways they would have done it. But I think they did Syril and Dedra dirty. Both brilliant characters who deserved more than this.
Her ending up in the prison though. Brutal. An appalling end and same time shows the machinations and functions of the empire. You’re only as useful as long as you’re useful regardless of how dedicated and devoted you are.
Cruel and horrible ending for her especially.

And of course let’s not forget Kathleen Kennedy and all the shit she gets. Which you seem to have, conveniently.

Andor creator Tony Gilroy speaks up about Kathleen Kennedy's role in making the Star Wars series:

“Kathy just kept saying yes…There’s no show without her. For all the shit that she takes online, it’s just insane. This show exists because she forced it to happen. What a tough job she has, man.”

I dunno. He didn't mention Kennedy at all, until it's years and years later. She hasn't earned it at all. He didn't do a good job making that praise seem set up at all.

I was briefly concerned that they were about to claim Kleya was Andors sister
