Maybe you'd like to be a wear-tester?
Hope you are joking.

Going up north again this weekend. Didn't see a single living creature last time I ran up there, but I'm still anxious about bears.

Did some swimming today to help deal with the shin splints. Felt good, but I haven't done non-recreational swimming in long time.

Fuck me, it's like starting the couch to 5k all over again. I found muscles that I think I haven't used in years.

It's amazing how quickly swimming transforms your body.

I've always had the upper-body strength of a 12-year-old girl and the wimpy "runner's chest" to match. Then I started Ironman training and quickly got pecs, triceps and lats. From the waist up I was a different person in just a month with 3 swims a week.

Unfortunately, I hated every second of it.

I'm happy to never do a tri again and retain my junior high chest and arms.

10 miles in 74 minutes.

Rough run. Probably my slowest 10-miler in about a year and a half. Got hammered last night and ate about 40 chicken wings.

Swimming is pure pain. I'm a certified lifeguard and I hate it.

Half marathon route in 1:36.

Got out late (already 95 degrees) and felt like total dog shit the whole way.

Third straight week I bested my half time. Down a Powerade too fast after the run and almost puked. 26 miles still seems unrealistic. Vacation starts tomorrow hopefully I get the miles in.

5.4 miles in 45:50. I puked a little today. It was too hot. Can't let it slow you down though.

Lots of shit and puke on the last couple of pages.

This running stuff is making us healthy, right?

I just always eat too much so I sometimes get some indigestion. It's no biggie.

10 in 74 minutes. Got out late again (95 degrees) and suffered.

Still, ran all four days of my July 4th vacation.

Think I'm settled on doing the 12-hour race instead of the half mary now.
