Not really. I wonder if its a health issue.

Poncho stated somewhere that he has retired. He doens't want to travel anymore. He has just retired from music, no drama there.

Nils Lofgren involved is a good thing though. Is he going to be choosing between touring with Crazy Horse or the E Street Band? Is that the 70s equivalent of having to choose between drumming for say Pearl Jam or Soundgarden?

Neil Young & the Stray Gators - Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa is an 11-track live album from Neil Young and The Stray Gators, recorded at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa on February 5th 1973.

The Stray Gators backed Neil occasionally in the ‘70’s and are Tim Drummond, Kenny Buttrey, Jack Nitzsche and Ben Keith.

The album was produced by Neil Young and Elliot Mazer and mixed by John Hanlon. It is mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman from the original analogue tapes.

Tuscaloosa features live versions of songs from Neil’s debut albums (track 1), plus classic songs from two of his biggest selling albums: After The Goldrush and Harvest. The album also features the title track from the live album Time Fades Away that would be released later in 1973, and songs from Neil’s classic album Tonight’s The Night that would not be released until 1975.

There’s something so specifically evocative about driving across America in those lyrics. Gets me every time.

That is a Top 10 Neil song for me.

In my early 20's, before I joined the military, I spent about 6 months driving around the Southwest, crashing on friend's couches and in cheap motels. Neil Young CD's were a big part of this time. I remember having some bootleg concert CD that had a nice acoustic version of Albuquerque. Great memories just thinking about this again.

I have a memory of this song where I swear it was being played by puppets/muppets in a video. I don't think it is real and is just some weird childhood association memory I have, but I love hearing this song because of it.

It's such a good song, the vibe just takes me away somewhere. I don't know where, but I go somewhere.

Listening to the 'Tonight's the Night' album now, it's probably been 4+ years since I last listened to it. I forgot about "World On A String", really liking that song right now.

I read Waging Heavy Peace. It was okay but not as enjoyable as Chronicles.

What Happened Yesterday into Peace and Love is one of my all-time favorite transitions.

Found a blank disc while boxing up CDs and it’s a good quality FLAC of On The Beach. I don’t know why, but this discovery of an album I already know well and own in multiple formats made me very happy. Listening to it now.
