Was at Jamaica v Venezuela today at Soldier Field. Announced attendance was 25k but it sure seemed like less. The outrageous prices they tried to gouge USA based fans for is blowing up in their face.

The match was okay but the ref ruined it with a needless red card to Jamaica. From the games I've seen so far it doesn't seem like the players care all that much. Messi will probably sit Friday. If I had to do it over again I would have skipped the venue pass and just bought Tuesdays usmnt game and the semi final if it looked decent.

US Soccer needs a change in leadership, approach, and development. Basically burn it down and start over again.

That was fun. I was goal side for all the first half carnage.

I did like the edge the US played with. It will serve them well the rest of the tourney. Bobby Wood, and as always Jermaine Jones provided a lot of that.

John Brooks is a absolute rock in defense.

I really like Brooks. Didn't think the card he got was warranted. He didn't even leave his feet. The guy ran into him.

Still a little disappointed in some of the 2nd half passing. Bradley played better, but he should be a lot better than he's shown.

I wish they would play with that edge, and clean up the sloppiness more often. The defense has been pretty solid with only a few lapses CR should have scored on the ball Beckerman put over the bar late.

Awesome to have 4 goals though. Glad you got to go Verb.

If they get out of the group and somehow win a quarterfinal, which I think would be against Ecuador or Brazil, I'd get to see them back at Soldier for the semis. My nightmare scenario would be a Mexico game but I don't think that'd be possible based on the bracket.

Messi is supposed to be back on the field Friday so that should be pretty cool.

Agree about the passing and specifically bradley. it's been a struggle. The midfield just struggles to maintain possession. The team's approach gradually becomes win possession and get the ball to the wings as fast as possible.

I think Nagbe would help with possession and Pulisic is actually a real option on the wing as opposed to Zardes or Wood. The problem is you aren't going to be able to toss both of them out there Saturday in a game where you need a result. Maybe one, but probably not both. Down the road though those two should both be able to help with the problem.

Yep. And good god if Zardes had any touch or control he could be a special player instead of a bit player.

I could live with gyasi's horrible touch if he could just put shots on frame but he consistently misses the target. When Dempsey played him in Tuesday in the first half I knew he was going to miss.

Yeah they need someone new to come in and coach them up on keeping the ball out of the middle on defense, passing it up the field, and kicking it in towards the goal on offense. It's all pretty complicated.
