Yeah, I hear you. Obviously this is politics so the WH wants to run from that word and a statement like that does give off word game vibes. My guess is that whenever the NBER does declare the economy in a recession, it will be dated starting after Q1. But who knows.

This is not a recession, we are just experiencing climate justice.

The CA fast food workers bill is... well... almost socialism.

Looking forward to what the legislature does when the number of fast food restaurants dramatically shrinks and unemployment among the lowest skilled workers increases.

It's okay, they can get their trucking licenses and become owner-operators. Oh wait...

I think the line is "move to the city and learn to code".

My guess would be the first step is to phase out "dine-in" options at many places as this would cut labor costs and help with worker safety. Food will be served automat style which I thought worked well in dense urban areas when I used to travel to Japan for work.

Temporary deal done. Membership is not pleased, may still be a strike before the midterms.

Why you should be happy about inflation and worried about something else, top economist Brad DeLong says

We've reached Stage 2:

1. "It's not happening and is a harmful right-wing conspiracy theory."
2. "It's happening and it's good that it's happening."

It's behind a paywall. But what's his claim? That it's good for borrowers/debtors because your debt is becoming cheaper?
