Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It's a doozy

I'm looking forward to it. Despite the last episode.

what didn't you like about the last one?

Plodding, repetitive, angry and insecure in the wrong ways. It was a longer episode with less stuff going on and every new scene within each story felt like the previous scene within that story. It wasn't "bad" per se, but it was easily the worst of the season so far, to me.

Hmm. Curious what you'll think of this next one. It's even more angry, but in different ways.

Like I said, I'm still really looking forward to it. Hopefully, I'll get to watch it tonight after work!

Let's talk the latest episode of White Lotus and final stretch.

1. Do we actually think that Greg? (Uncle Rico) is trying to scam Tanya, or is it a red herring and he's planning something nice for her like a surprise or some sort? I am leading towards the latter.

2. What do we think Quentin meant when he asked Tanya if she'd be "willing to die" for beauty?

3. The wealthy gay mens' con isn't exactly clear to me. I don't see an obvious path to their somehow getting Tanya's money. We know they're up to no good, but any big ideas on what exactly it is they're trying to accomplish?

4. They have really butchered the Valentina character. Her exchange with the wannabe lounge singer felt like too little too late. Only two episodes left? Is she going to find sexual fulfillment after a (presumably) long time of being closeted? Or will the show end with her still alone, closed off? I don't really care! They've executed her character too thin for anything to land, I think.

5. What do we think Daphne meant when she showed Harper the pic on her phone. She talked about her beautiful personal trainer who had gorgeous blonde locks of hair...Then she showed a pic of her kid, then she said "Whoops, I'll find the pic later. My point is: get a trainer." Do we think she doesn't even have a trainer? Or that she does have a trainer, and they have an affair, and she maintains the charade for the benefit of her kid?

Kinda feeling Rico might surprised her with a good thing yeah. Not sure about the gay guys intention yet, but they are shady. i feel Portia is heading to drama territory again and Albi´s insufferable character will ¨try to help her¨

My take is Quentin is trying to con Tanya into putting money towards the Villa. They mentioned having to potentially open it to the public to keep it going, and don’t want to do that. The discussion around beauty was also partly in reference to the beauty of the Villa.

She's still great. But feels like a step down from S1 to me. They aren't giving here nearly as much.

Interesting. In S1, I found her to be great to watch, but she almost felt like a side character. Stakes feel higher now for me.

So funny, I totally feel the opposite.

But again, she's doing a great job and I still enjoy the character. Hoping she really gets to shine and bring it home in these last couple eps.

yeah, they gave her a meaty role this season. Lots of different things to do. S1 was a good setup for her, but now her character is has more dimension maybe.
