Yup, he passed this morning. I’m sad for the family but it was his stubborn ignorance that killed him.
His last post on Facebook was an anti vaccine meme.

We’ll see. But some of social media by these whack jobs, such as Bill Gates owns the patent on virus and should be tried for mass murder, shows how much misinformation is out there that is completely believed by some. More than I realize probably.

If course several GOP governors (the usual suspects) and the RNC are saying they will take the Biden administration to court. That should interesting as the legal precedents side with public safety.

My uncle is a whacko far right. He is on an email chain with all his MAGA buddies. Occasionally I get included in the emails. Today they were talking about how Biden is flying in thousands of Afghans with COVID to red states so then Biden can point out how the republican led states have higher COVID numbers.

Why would the states have standing to sue? Their employees are exempt from the mandate. They'd need to find an employer with100 or more employees and possibly wait for it to be enacted to sue.

That said, it sounds like they aren't going through the APA process, and the history of emergency rule changes tends to be that they get over-ruled more often than not. If this is deemed acceptable, I'm not sure if there is any limiting principle for what OSHA can mandate or prohibit as long as the justification is occupational health and the enforcement mechanism is fining employers.

It is hard not to. But no matter what you say him and his friends have a Trumpian answer. On the other hand, he has also become very racist and homophobic. So I have fun replying to those. He sent us the trailer for the new Matrix and said how he couldn't wait to see it. Before I could even respond, my father called him out for past comments about the director transitioning. My uncle's reply; "yeah but he-she makes good movies". :/
