Someone mentioned ticket prices before. I found this old quote and thought it was interesting considering how outspoken they were during the 03 tour and what have you. I wonder if he still feels this way.
You were involved in a lot of anti-Bush efforts. Did the 2004 election alter your belief in the role music can play in politics and social change?

We raised money for MoveOn.org and tried to honestly motivate people and disseminate information and get out the vote, and that was positive. But looking back, maybe that's not the way. I'd rather charge a few dollars more for tickets, and without saying a damn thing, take that money and use it in that town for someone who needs it rather than trying to convince someone to be active or not.
Grain of salt though i guess, googling this article only brings up various copy and pasted versions of it.

And with that, he turned to the dark side of using money to silently manipulate behind the scenes.

Has anyone here read five against one by Kim Neely? I'm aware its a little biased against the band/ Eddie but I was wondering if it was worth picking up, second hand most likely.

As an aside I wonder if its this book that put Dave A on the bands shitlist for life? Not because of what he says necessarily but that he did it at all

(Also while looking for info/an online version, I came across this amusing blog entry by some woman who was mentally scarred from working with such miserable band and I'm assuming a little butthurt that Eddie gave no shits when she stopped.)

Wow. The nerve of Ed to not pose naked with a snake for Spin. WHAT AN ASSHOLE.

I like where she's mad that they didn't dedicate a song to her. Shouldn't she know you need to petition that shit in advance?

She sounds like the worst. The way she "casually" dropped in the part about being married to one of the Pixies made me cringe.

Yeah. Although, I read a few of the posts and I was mildly interested in her (and his) take on Dave A. I guess I've only heard 'Dave A was a douche'. But I reckon there was some douchery from Ed too.

I mean she sounds like a complete professional, and not someone the band wouldn't enjoy working with at all

There was probably douche-baggery on both sides with Dave and Eddie. By all acounts that book seems to be daves side if the story as it were. Hence it being negative towards the band/ Eddie.

I have no doubt that working with Pearl Jam in the early 90s was an enormous pain in the ass.

I'm sure it was. But it seems the biggest example she has of how SHE was mistreated was that they didn't make a big deal out of her leaving. There's nothing in there that makes me think "Man, that must have sucked for her..."

They wouldn't be on the simpsons. Inconsiderate assholes.
