i have an amazing health plan with my company

since i started in 2020 my health and dental are upwards of 400K spent by my insurance company. I have probably paid about $400 in copays that are reimbursed with company covering everything else

Been reading Common App essays my seniors wrote all day today. If I wasn’t already an alcoholic, I would be after this.

Read one where a kid who hasn’t said shit in class in 6 weeks related how his dad was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer a week before he found out his wife was pregnant. He started to get better and saw the child born but took a turn for the worse and died on Fucking Father’s Day 3 years ago. No idea why this kid is so withdrawn.

The literal next one I read was about a girl bouncing around the foster care system with her younger sister. In her 4th stop, she stayed with a “nice black woman with 2 kids of her own.” It didn’t last long, though, because she only fed them suckers.

I’m drunk now, obviously. It means everything to me that these kids will tell me this stuff after just 6 weeks, but it absolutely guts me that they have this stuff to tell.

Everyone knows that Lennys chosen profession is for protection of the company and not "for" the employees

but every now and then you run into so good people in HR who do look out for you.

I wouldnt say i have been depressed but my upcoming surgery has been weighing pretty heavy on my mind as well as always worrying about my heart. Well Friday I was walking past our HR office and she called my name and asked me to step in. We started off with a little banter (thats another post) and she asked how I was doing. I replied well aside from the limp because of my arthritis I am doing ok. Just want the surgery to be done with. She shot back not physically, mentally. I've noticed a little change in your demeanor and wanted to make sure you were ok.

I told I am just stressed with the surgey and stuff and thanked her for taking the time to check in on me. There are very few HR departments that do that.

We got a new pup at my mom´s house.

She´s been there for a week now, and is super small but very very intense and wild.

I was at my bed with her sleeping and all of sudden she just jumped to the floor and run to my other dog, Tango, who is not pleased with this situation. So far he just needs to be in other area or maybe outside far from that little dog that runs and barks.

Its very funny.

Great weekend in Illinois. Perfect weather, hanging out with people I love, great food. Went to a haunted house that was a little disappointing but still tons of fun (can't help but smile ear-to-ear the whole time I'm in any haunted house regardless of how good it is). I hated living in Illinois and would never want to set foot there again during summer, but autumn in the midwest can be really wonderful.

its the Canadian thanksgiving today...having a friend over and we'll be watching mostly baseball and some football..my lovely wife is making
coq au vin...the house smells so good now..plenty of drinks to go around..I'm wearing a mariners hat and a blue jays t-shirt..
