Not sure. I'm in St. Louis area and on the news this morning they reported Kansas (as in the state) is offering to pay 70% of cost for royals and chiefs stadiums.

The Kansas Speedway area is not convenient to get to for 70 percent of the metro area. Arrowhead and Kauffman's relatively central location makes much more sense.

In any event, I can't tell if anyone's discussed the idea of ball/strike appeals so I'll raise the issue.

I'd be kind of for it but only on a strike 3 call. You get three strikes. If you don't agree with the zone on the first couple strikes, then be a big boy and protect a bigger zone. But no more getting punched out on a mistake.

I went to a AAA game and they were appealing every other call. It got boring and would definitely contradict with the "faster game" ethos to open it up in the MLB the same way.

Then it's decided. Appeals by the batter only on strike 3, appeals by the pitcher only on ball 4. Thanks for helping me run the MLB. I'm sure our quorum will hold up.

I would rather have an electronic 100% accurate system, which feeds to the home plate ump earpiece directly & instantaneously, who barks out the strike calls just like they do now.

Then they make all their other calls (safe, out, fair, foul, balk) as humans.

Don’t slow the game down on ball/strike appeals. Being right and keeping the challenge … fuck man they could do that on every at bat. Umps miss calls pretty frequently if they’re having a bad day.

I’ve watched a few AAA games this year and it barely slows the game down. There’s a guy on the Woo Sox who is known for his eye, he’s challenging pitches at like a 99% clip or something crazy like that.
