Sounds like something glorified_version would say.

I spent 8 hours in the office today sitting next to a colleague whose kid has a hand, foot and mouth disease. This person saw no problem in coming to the office because her husband stayed home to take care of their sick kid. We had some guests and I couldn't leave home, and I also didn't want to be the asshole confronting her about the possibility of us getting the disease too because she didn't stay home.

I was supposed to see my close family over the weekend but I canceled it already because I don't want to be the one possibly spreading the disease and getting them sick. I'm really not happy about this.

Just spray Lysol on all surfaces and in the air between you and her all day. Maybe she’ll take the hint.

Then I got to thinking, 'you know, Nick, you oughta drop by the ole forum and see if any of your schoolyard chums are still around'. And then I spent like 2 hours finding an old saved password on a hard drive backup. And well, here I am.

Thank you for returning.

Woke up late. Went out and got some coffee. Helped dad with some work he needed done around the house. Started drinking early and then did some yoga when my parents went out. So far it's been a good day

HFM is rarely contagious between adults, but when you get it as an adult it is the absolute worst.

My seniors are doing a research paper on a career. I require them to interview someone who is working in that job. Many kids bitch out and just choose an occupation someone in their family does so they can interview an uncle or whatever.

Today this kid in 5th hour came to me with his interview done except he’d changed his topic. I asked what the new topic was and who he interviewed: his brother, a rapper.

I said, “Dude, it can’t be just someone who works a job for a living and puts songs up on SoundCloud when he can.”
He goes, “No, he’s a real rapper.”
I said, “Cool,” and spun my laptop toward him. “Show me.”
He goes, “You probably don’t know him, but I bet you know our dad.”

I sure fucking did. Busta Rhymes! He showed me a video for a song called Legacy and, sure enough, a likeness of my student and his name are in it.

I asked, “Why didn’t you just interview him?”
He replied, “He’s not that easy to get ahold of.”
I went from being blown away to sad as hell. So many nice kids without fathers in their lives in my classes again this year. Fucking epidemic.
