Merry Christmas
A new legal filing appears to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene for the first time in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the 2016 election.

Donald Trump is not getting $5 billion for a wall, and he has written himself into a place without an out. Republicans aren’t fighting for him...their entire talking point is “you need to work this out with the Democrats,” which couldn’t be a clearer “not our problem.” If he doesn’t get his money now, not only will he never get it, but it will confirm his absolute powerlessness in future dealings. Half of his senior staff are acting temporary advisors, the economy is faltering, every ounce of corruption displayed by any agency head in the last 24 months is about to be investigated, multiple federal and state law offices are zeroing in on him, his associates, and his finances, and the best he’s got is to take pictures where he pretends to sign a blank piece of paper in order to look tough.vegman wrote:I'm very grateful VA isn't affected this time. Agreed, and it is a very scary thought.McParadigm wrote:Donald Trump is not getting $5 billion for a wall, and he has written himself into a place without an out. We’re probably in for a long shutdown but, even if we’re not, dysfunction is destined to reach previously unheard of levels in the coming months. Donald Trump is at last truly alone against the full weight of the American government, political establishment, majority public, and law...and all he’s got is a picture of a clipart wall that will never be built.

Oh shit...and now, throwing a temper tantrum over the letter Mattis submitted, Trump has tossed him out effective January 1.

Too many pussy Republicans in the House keep this from happening. They feel they have to back Trump or they’re nobody.liebzz wrote:Crazy idea: Congress should pass the CR originally agreed upon and send it to the president. When he vetoes, Congress overrides the veto and it becomes law anyway. The government is funded, there’s no wall, and Congress sends the necessary message to the president that he does not dictate policy on his own. It’s a win-win for Democrats and Republicans alike.
Remember that the original CR was unanimous in the Senate and would have passed the House if not for Trump getting played by FOXNews.
