Honestly, this thing where the president doubles down on unpopular demands that are causing an unpopular shutdown solely because he thinks it will interfere with Pelosi’s Speakership ego-trip and therefore give him leverage...both perfectly represents the hilarious self-sabotage stupidity of lib owning as a worldview, and reveals how brutally unprepared he is for actual political struggle.

Apparently the White House hasn’t been in touch with Pelosi in 18 days. They went all in on the idea that they can turn Schumer against her and also blame her for the shutdown, and it hasn’t worked because it’s the dumbest strategy ever.
