Are they more outrageous if they're positive?E.H. Ruddock wrote:Lots of outrageous claims being made about songs only listened to for two days.
Same happened with CC an LIR. Reality should kick in around feb.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Lots of outrageous claims being made about songs only listened to for two days.

I just mean people saying they are better than established PJ songs after two days is outrageous. Not in bad way, just, outrageous.harmless wrote:Are they more outrageous if they're positive?E.H. Ruddock wrote:Lots of outrageous claims being made about songs only listened to for two days.

I haven't really compared these songs to any past ones, I find it pointless. But comparing Matt's drum tone and playing to Riot Act more than Backspacer is easy.Strat wrote:E.H. I dont want to be part of an internet that isn't outrageous. You know?
These are the best 4 songs we have got from this band since the Boy albumE.H. Ruddock wrote:Lots of outrageous claims being made about songs only listened to for two days.
I agree on all accounts. I won't "compare" these to past songs. They are different and new. They were written by minds that have changed and grown and evolved throughout every album since ten. In some ways that is good and in some ways not so good but they are what they are and I judge them solely based on their own constructs....that being said. GETAWAY IS MY JAM BABY YEAH!! Maybe its the Agnostic in me....maybe its the music lover jamming out to the groovy rhythm of the track and the rockin buildup of it all. Maybe its eddies delivery of the lyrics...or the whole damn thing.harmless wrote:I haven't really compared these songs to any past ones, I find it pointless. His drumming has never been a issue I love it on alot of songs, but as much as I enjoy Backspacer I can not stand his snap and pop on that record this is more like his earlier tones which I like alot.harmless wrote:Fuck tone? How you summed up Getaway is how I feelWalker Bait wrote:I agree on all accounts. I won't "compare" these to past songs. They are different and new. But on everything else, he's good. His drum tone and the feel of his playing (especially the "groove" he has found on Getaway) reminds me quite a lot of Riot Act. There's more "Can't Keep" in his playing than S/T or Backspacer, for sure. I don't think he's finally found a groove that works with PJ, he's got back a bit of what worked during Binaural and Riot Act.
