I bought the hardcover strategy guide (only $40ish on Amazon). If anything, my kids will enjoy thumbing through it for the pictures/maps/details.

Pretty excited about Friday. My 12 year old nephew is a big Zelda fan as well. I'm heading down to my brother's house and already told him that my nephew has no curfew and will be up very late Friday night into Saturday as we both play TotK.

I'm going to pick my kid up early from after-school care to go home and play it for an hour or two before the rest of the family gets home.

Part of me is a little excited to play the game “with” my kids, but a much bigger part of me is very much not. This is a one player game and I want to play it at my pace. Kids can watch, that’s fine, but I don’t want to hand over the controller to them.

Yeah we’re playing separately. Just gonna hang and share some experiences while we each play

24 hours from now, I'll be playing!

PSA: charge your controllers, update your system, and pre-load (if you're going digital).

I've done my best to avoid spoilers but I've seen some headlines. One is kinda disappointing to me if true.
Spoiler: show
Less shrines. More traditional dungeons.
I'm sure I'll get over it in a jiffy.

Super stoked. We bought a 2nd switch just so my wife and I could both play without having to fight over the console. She's a casual gamer at best but she loved BotW and has played it 3 or 4 times now. We both played it for the first time during the early days of COVID and it kept us somewhat sane during all those lockdowns. It was a lot of fun to talk about the places we'd been and things we'd done that day. I'm really looking forward to having that experience again except now we can both play at the same time.

It’s arriving in peoples letterboxes and downloads and I’m not able to even think about affording it until next week! At least!
Damn you plants that I spent €300 on last week!
Damn you!! I’m bereft and inconsolable

My kids just got invited to a pool party after school tomorrow, so I’ll have Link (+ Kolson and Bolson) all to myself for a while.

That’s kind of a bummer, but my favorite part of the former was the search, so maybe that will still be the case with the latter
