The 2022 Gigaton Tour

I’m looking forward to see if the new material changes their set list formula. A lot of bands I’ve noticed (Wilco for one) seem to mostly abandon the the album prior to the new one they’re touring behind. What LB songs do you think will stick around or will they mostly just play Gigaton with the hits from the first three records and Yield?

LB and MYM remain staples
Occasionally Pendulum and Yellow Moon pop up in Encore 1

Rest are gone

No way LB and MYM are played every night. Why would Pendulum appear in the encore? It was almost exclusively a show opener. I'm sure it'll still open a show or two.

They used to play pendulum as an Opener but they did it in the encore when I saw them in 2016 at MSG along with songs like all or none and I have a feeling that’s where it stays.

And I didn’t mean every night. Just frequently like Unthought Known

Pendulum has appeared 89% as an opener. 7% in the encores. All of its appearances in 2018 were as an opener.

Oceans is a good song and works well as an opener, but I don't want 2020 Ed singing it.

I’ve heard HTI 29383838 times as an opener.

I saw them open with RVM in '93, Who You Are in '96, and Alive in '03, which were all pretty awesome!

At this point, the non-standard opener should be the standard for openers.

Standard = Boring.

I’d be surprised.

I haven’t checked but it felt like it had already been relegated to a “sometimes” song in recent years.

They had to start tuning it down, which is never a good sign, and it also involves complicated in-song guitar changes.

Seems like a lot of work when they have new songs in that vein to play.

if they don’t open with that dissonant/chaotic sound garble (that was released as an early snippet) and then slam into a rocker, it will feel like a wasted opportunity

The only one I’m really hoping I get to open is Oceans. Still haven’t had it, and if they don’t open with it, chances are I’m not going to get it.

I can easily see them opening with DotC then straight into some balls-out jam like Go or BoJ.

DotC is the start of encore 2 or the transfer from stool to standings song in enc 1

Hard to say until we hear the rest of the record but I’m thinking it’s a first third of the main set (3rd, 4th or 5th song) kind of song.
