"Hangman in dreamland about to call your name" is the peak of Seven O'Clock. And it's a six-star peak. I don't know how you can resolve a song/moment like that in a way that doesn't feel somehow lacking. But to me that's just a technicality.

I think Seven O Clock is too long. I'd have cut the entire "much to be done part" and Ed going all "hee hee" at the end

Eh, this song just always rubbed me the wrong way in general, so wordy.

I want a "much to be done" tattoo eventually, love that part

now thats a bit much but I really like that part too and its my favorite song on Gigaton.

Not past Binaural. I can say that unequivocally the longer the songs are in these latter days, they are simply less to my liking. Here's a sampling, all songs I skip or terminate early:

Sirens - 5:41

Rivercross - 5:53
Comes then Goes - 6:02
Inside Job - 7:09

The only song I think I've liked after Binaural past the 5 minute mark is Who Ever Said, due largely to the loose jammy feel to it all. Everything on this list feels over engineered and way too wordy.

I'm slightly concerned about it, yeah; I was encouraged by someone (I can't remember who) saying it was super heavy though, so if it's to be a punker, let's hope it's genuinely thrashy this time

Habit is my favorite of those tracks. I know a lot of you would be happy with a Lukin, STBC or Whipping analog, but those tracks always felt repetitive to me without much room for musical exploration. Blood is special because it brings the funk. Habit is special because it brings such ferocious guitars for the solo (kind of like Dark Matter in that regard). I have no idea what a sub-3 minute heavy song from PJ will sound like these days, but I’m hopeful it will have some real energy.

it’s a well worn formula. Though Get Right, Big Wave, and Supersonic (maybe LTRP or Take the Long Way) are the only ones kind of structured to be light/disposable. The rest, even if they are light, are songs making statements
