Great American Beer Fest list is released tomorrow, it'll be nice to have some idea what I'd like to try and hit up.

Going to coordinate with the pal I'm going with, it's going to be a mad house but there are some excellent brews I actually want to try to get to.

No. I guess I've got beer #1.

Ballast Point Sculpin is probably my favorite large production IPA right now and Racer 5 is worth trying from Bear Republic.

The zombie killer and kill all the golfers sounds fun to me anyway. I've never heard of them before.

Sculpin is an absolute beast of an IPA. If it's price point wasn't so high, I think it would be more accessible to casual drinkers.

Agree totally. Though I'm happy they didn't cut it down to a 4 pack like others did.

Agree 100%. It's a ridiculously good beer but I rarely buy it due to the price.

It's the same price here as well. Two Hearted, on the other hand, is $9.99.

I've seen Sculpin for as high as $14.50.

There's a brewery here called Mystery Brewing. They don't have a flagship beer. Their thing is that everything they make is seasonal. Anyhow, last year they had this one:

Dromgoole Release
It’s triple pie brewed. It’s dry-pied. It’s our pumpkin pie beer made with whole pumpkin pies, specifically for Halloween. Come in all day and be among the first to get a pint of Dromgoole.

I can't wait to see what shows up this year.

OK, on my To Try List:

AleSmith
Ballast Point Sculpin
Bear Republic Racer 5
B. Nektar Meadery's Kill All Golfers (I tried the Zombie Killer last year.)
Atwater Brewery's Vanilla Java Porter

Plus, three NC breweries I've never tried: Bombshell, Fortnight, and Unknown

Anything else?

It's pretty hard to justify/quantify the difference for Sculpin when 2 hearted and or 60 min are 9.99 but Sculpin is pretty special and it's 5 or 6 dollars cheaper than Hopslam if you can find Hopslam.

If Tröegs taps Nugget Nectar by chance (since I saw a lot of that this weekend) definitely that.
New Belgium Hop The Pond, had it Sunday and it was very good.
If Lagunitas brings a non standard of course.

I'd take Sculpin over 2 Hearted (after some mild deliberation) and 60 Min (in an instant) while Hopslam isn't even in the same category. I would also say that Hopslam fades far faster than Sculpin, both amazing fresh but two totally different brews: IPA v DIPA.

Picked up one of these. I think I'm gonna drop it into the cellar until Thanksgiving 2016.
