Nothing they've done since touches it, though the following two records have some great moments.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that it doesn't seem to exist to 99% of people who discuss QOTSA on other forums.

I've also never seen any explanation as to what happened with the original release of that album being deliberately edited down (full version was used for reissue). Josh has insinuated that the "label" made him do it. It was Stone's label, so is Stone responsible for the removal of The Bronze and Born To Hula? If so, fuck him!

You guys are crazy. Villains has slipped a little for me over the years, but LC and EV are fantastic albums.

I have not done a scientific study on the data but I would like to prove my hypothesis for the QOTSA-effect.

Let me explain. You ask 100 random real fans to rank their albums. Then you compare the results with bands like PJ, Foo Figters, Soundgarden, Radiohead, Green Day, Metallica, etc...

My hypothesis that QOTSA albums will rank much much more diverse than the other acts. Meaning that 100 fans would rank the albums of PJ, Radiohead, FF in a similar manner. For QOTSA im not so sure, Im pretty sure that most would rank Villains as their worst. But that's about it.

Oh I would rank them as follows:

01- Lullabies..
02- SFTD
03- Like Clockwork
04- S/T
05- Era Vulgaris
06- Rated R
07- Villains

Radiohead fans rank the albums all over the place if our thread is anything to go by. I think you'd be in the minority putting Rated R and S/T anywhere outside of the top 3.

yeah, i also debuted with Rated R. Loved it. Its my fav followed close by LC and the debut.

Sftd was my first qotsa album

I'm not sure if i can really rank the catalogue beyond having Like Clockwork as my clear #1 and Villains as their worst.

Very similar to my ranking.

Villains is a big miss but I LOVE how the album starts. Just falls very flat immediately after
