I heard Trump say that if these people who were missing out on their pay were to speak with him that they'd tell him to stay strong and continue till he gets his funding, so I can only assume that stupid border security means more to federal employees than feeding their families

Is the wall built? Or mostly built? Its big and beautiful I know that. Theyve done a fantastic job. And there is thousands of miles of wall built. And doing a fantastic job. But its also not built and we are in danger and if we dont get 5 billion to build the wall then getting a paycheck won't mater because we will all be raped and drugged out of our minds.

It’s been two years. Regardless of your political stripes, you should be aware at this point that for Trump there is no high road. Only winning and losing.

I am also positive that if Trump tries to use a state of emergency to use military funding for a border wall after not being successful in advocating for it in the legislature that the executive branch will be sued by congress and it will go before the Supreme Court very quickly.

And they'll "find out whether or not the Kavanaugh fight was worth it."

I don’t actually think the White House cares if it wins such a fight, only that it was seen taking up the attempt. It allows them to say “hey we’re fighting for you, trying to do exactly what we promised to do,” without all the hassle and consequence of building a wall.

I also don’t think that even they believe they’ll win a court battle over $5b in emergency wall funding

The documentary follows the Washington bureau reporters from the NY Times for the first few hundred days of Trumps presidency. In last nights episode it showed footage of the press corps working at one of his rallies where he calls them out (I think for the first time) as being the "Enemy of the People". The look of shock on the journos faces when he uttered those words really was something to behold. These are veterans of reporting on various POTUS and Washington administrations and they just cannot believe the rhetoric he is coming out with, as they say on the program a Trump presidency completely throws any notion of a rule book out the window. With every breaking story on the Trump administration they are just shaking their heads about how things just get weirder and weirder, it really is a fascinating watch.’

This in spite of McConnell keeping almost entirely out of the wall fight...Democrats are trying to squash any policy-making until the shutdown is addressed, hoping to frustrate those Republicans who are already waffling on the president’s hardline stance.
