Brilliant. One of the quintessential masterpieces of American cinema. Just outstanding in every way.
Probably top five for me.

This was my first time seeing it. Because I'm the worst. My wife's seen it before. When it was over we discussed it and I said, "This is absolutely, without a doubt, even after only one viewing one of the top 10 movies I've ever seen. Probably top 5."

I'm gonna go see this today. I expect it to suck but it's not often I get to see something projected in 70mm.

Good man. I hope the movie is a pleasant surprise for you. I'll definitely see it in 70mm sometime in the next 5 days. Maybe tonight but I won't hold my breath.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Unsurprisingly, Dunkirk was incompetent trash. Probably Nolan's worst movie yet. It's also the strongest evidence so far to support my theory that he is literally a robot.

Just saw Emma (1996). Not big on Jane Austen really, but they do have a special mood. Gwyneth Paltrow was really sweet.

Just curious, have you ever been totally surprised by a big budget film? Seems like your final impression is always the same as your feeling going into it.

Saw it on 70mm at the MFAH a few years ago. Like Joey, I was immediately impressed by what I had just watched.
